# How do I market "x" *originally written on December 30th, 2020 @ 9:52pm* %% Enter notes below this line %% I asked a friend this today, thinking about the upcoming announcement of our Voyager newsletter, the Link Drop. I came away from the conversation with not much more than I entered it with but despite the number of times I’ve asked it (to myself and others) in the past I now realize it’s the wrong question. In fact, it’s actually two questions. 1. How do I get people to see this? 2. How do I get them to come back? When you’re starting out, I think there’s this idea that what you made is dope and all you need is traffic. Setting aside that this is most likely not true, it’s also not the question that gets answered when you ask “how do I market x” or “how do I get users/subscribers/customers/etc”. Most advice is about the other question.
