by [[Depth Atelier]]
> [!summary] Description
> A 45-minute participatory workshop exploring how we've become the interface through which digital systems act, focusing on mapping and redesigning our digital rituals and attention patterns.

## TLDR;
- Explores the concept that humans have become the medium through which digital systems operate
- Distinguishes between unconscious habits and intentional rituals in digital behavior
- Examines how digital environments shape our attention and time usage
- Provides tools for mapping personal digital patterns and creating new intentional rituals
- Uses speculative design methods to reimagine our relationship with technology
### Recap
#### Workshop Overview
[[The Interface Is You]] is a speculative design workshop that reframes our relationship with digital technology. Rather than viewing screens as the primary interface, the workshop proposes that we ourselves have become the interface through which digital systems operate.
#### Core Concept: Humans as Digital Medium
The workshop explores how our attention, time, and behavioral patterns have become the throughput for digital systems. In a world of constant notifications, endless scrolling, and algorithmic loops, we've unconsciously adapted our rituals and habits to serve technological demands rather than our own intentions.
#### Workshop Structure and Activities
Participants engage in a 45-minute guided experience that includes:
- Mapping existing digital rituals (both intentional and automatic)
- Distinguishing between unconscious habits and purposeful rituals
- Understanding how digital environments influence behavior below conscious awareness
- Designing new intentional patterns and rituals
#### Learning Outcomes
The workshop provides participants with practical tools including a personal map of their digital rituals, at least one newly designed ritual or pattern, and a reframed understanding of their agency in digital spaces. The focus is on reclaiming intentionality in how we engage with technology.
#### Speculative Design Approach
Using speculative design methods, the workshop encourages participants to imagine alternative futures and relationships with technology, moving beyond current constraints to envision new possibilities for digital interaction.
